Pattern-book was published in May 2025 (UK) and July 2025 (US) by Carcanet Press. (In the US, get a copy here.) I made the animation above as the trailer for the book, but it does a pretty good job of telling you what my primary interests are in general.
Jane Zwart reviewed Pattern-book for Plume Poetry here.
Jade Cuttle reviewed Pattern-book for The Observer, where it was Poetry Book of the Month in May 2025.
Here are a pair of poems from the book that appeared in PN Review, reprinted on their Substack.
I wrote an essay about the simile for that same blog. And Carol Rumens (among many readers!) noticed how important similes are to this book. She chose “Simile” as poem of the week for The Guardian in November 2025.
Pattern-book is also reviewed in Poetry Ireland Review 148. Other mentions of the book are to be found on Linda France’s Startling, on New England Literary News by Nina MacLaughlin, and on Everybody’s Reviewing, a community project in Leicester, where Pam Thompson writes that I “[make] everything shine”, perhaps the sweetest praise.
