I’m very pleased to say I’ll be reading and in conversation with Khaled Mattawa and Valzhyna Mort as part of Brookline Booksmith’s Transnational Literature Series on October 28 at 7 p.m. US Eastern Time, over Zoom. Information is here. The event is free but registration is required.

“Oh dear, June Jordan…”
An essay for and about June Jordan, Gertrude Stein, Emily Dickinson, and Phillis Wheatley was published in No. 1 Gold last fall, and a significantly revised and expanded version will be included in The Encounter: A Handbook of Poetic Practice, out from North Carolina State University Press in 2021. Thanks to Jon Thompson for including my work.
Three poems, VQR
I’m very pleased indeed to have three poems—”Century at Lampedusa“, “Form A” and “Redaction / monument“—coming out in Virginia Quarterly Review in advance of the publication of The Century, in which they also appear.
Three poems, The Adroit Journal
The Adroit Journal has three poems that also appear in The Century: “A tendency to survive after disaster”, “The end of history”, and one of the two “Nuclear geography” poems (if you’re keeping track, it’s the one on the train in England). I’m really pleased about this as Adroit has long been a wished-for place of publication!
Workshop: An autumn herbarium
This year I’ll teach a series of four workshops for Maine Media College, all of which will focus on developing a place-centered attentive practice as the basis for cross-disciplinary/multifield artmaking. The first begins in September. Information is here.
