Sundog Lit has taken my poem “It was true the windows had been painted shut” for their second issue (January 2013). It’s here, on page 23.
Writing
“A history of blue” in OXFORD POETRY
Oxford Poetry have taken my poem “A history of blue”, which takes its title from this book, for an upcoming issue. (A review of Maulpoix’s book is here. An excerpt is here.)
GIGANTIC SEQUINS poetry contest
Nick Flynn was the judge, and he chose my poem ‘Prypyat Night Song’ as the winner, which is pretty damn cool. The journal will publish that poem and ‘Hemispheric Shift’ in their issue 4.1, and there’ll be a special section of my work on their website.
Information on Gigantic Sequins and its contests is here.
Longlisted for the Rialto’s Nature Poetry Competition
Yep. Just like it says on the tin. Here’s the longlist, which, true to its name, is quite long. Still. Nice to be on there. I sent ‘A tendency to survive after disaster’, ‘How to make a body of water’, ‘Hemispheric shift’ and ‘Sicut cervus’, in case you’re keeping track.
Two poems in BURNSIDE REVIEW
My poems “Century with insomnia” and “Open letter to Dimitriy Savchenko” will be published in Burnside Review late this winter (2012-13). Both of these are from the manuscript that was longlisted in The Collagist’s chapbook contest.
